The qnap surveillance app gives you more grace for free cameras. So simply, for me, Synology is much easier to live with.

QNAP usually give a higher spec for the price but the OS and the apps on Synology have been far more reliable. And they have released 3.3.x for quite a long time without updating the supported software.which is kinda unexpected. I bought the ts-419p+ and use MacBook.One thing forget to check is the current Qget for Mac is not working with any qnap firmware 3.3.x but only support 3.2.x.
